It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, And if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, For your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, If you have been opened by life's betrayals or Have shrivelled and closed from fear or further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own; If you can dance with wilderness and let ecstasy fill you.To the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, Be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself, If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.

I want to know if you can see beauty. Even when it is not pretty every day, And if you can source your life from God's presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, And still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, Weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.

It doesn't interest me who you are, how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the Fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, And if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

你是否有敢於追隨心之嚮往

It doesn't interest me how old you are

I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool

只想知道你會不會像傻瓜一樣奮不顧身

為了愛，為了理想

為了活著所必須經歷的種種冒險

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon

I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow

If you have been opened by life's betrayals or have

become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain

我不關心是什麼磨圓了你的稜角

只想知道你可曾發自內心地感到悲傷

遭遇了生活的背叛，你是變得豁達

還是為了免受更多的傷害而緊閉心扉

I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your

own without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it

我關心的是，面對各自的痛苦

你是去承受，而不去掩飾或試圖揮去

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or

your own

If you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes

without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember thelimitations of being human

我關心的是，面對各自的喜悅，你能安然享受

你是否能放縱地舞蹈，享受從頭到腳的狂喜

把那些『要小心、要現實、要記住自己的局限』這樣的告誡拋在一邊

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling

me is true

I want to know if you can disappoint another to be

true to yourself

If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not

betray your own soul

If you can be faithless and therefore trust worthy

我不關心你的故事是否真實

只想知道，你是否能無愧於本心，哪怕讓別人失望

不出賣自己的靈魂，哪怕承受指責

只想知道，你是否忠心耿耿，從而值得信賴

I want to know if you can see beauty even when it's

not pretty every day

and if you can source your own life from its presence

我關心的是，你是否能從平凡事物中發現美

並從中汲取生命的靈感

I want to know if you can live with failure,

yours and mine

and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have

I want to know if you can get up after the night of

只想知道，在經歷或徹骨的悲傷、絕望、精疲力竭之後你還能否振作，盡應盡的責任

came to be here

I want to know if you will stand in the center of the

fire with me and not shrink back

只想知道，你是否會同我在一起站在烈焰的中心，毫無畏懼

you have studied
